The Dana Brown Overnight Center (DBOC), located within Shaw Nature Reserve, offers school groups an opportunity to engage in more in-depth explorations of Missouri’s native ecosystems. MAP St. Louis students will participate in hands-on, outdoor, real world, inquiry-based science!

DATES: Tuesday, November 7 to Thursday, November 9
TIME: Departing: 9 a.m. on 11/7 | Returning: 3:45 p.m. on 11/9
LOCATION: Shaw Nature Reserve 307 Pinetum Loop Rd., Gray Summit, MO 63039

Note: Please drop off by 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7 — no change to pick up

Students should bring:
- bedding (pillow, sleeping bag and/or sheet set and blankets)
- hiking shoes (or boots)
- water bottle
- rain gear and warm outdoor gear (including hats/gloves—we will still hike if it is raining/snowing)
- backpack for hiking
- 3 days and 2 nights of clothing
- personal toiletries
- wash cloth and towel
- flashlight
- all medications (with signed waiver and instructions—must be given to teachers before departure)
- sunscreen (optional)
- hat (optional)

Digital devices, including cell phones, will not be permitted on the trip. The MAP guides will have a cell phone with them in the case of an emergency. If there is a family emergency needing immediate attention, please contact Sara Krenski at the school.
