Portrait of a MAP Student

Students who excel in Montessori adolescent programs are those who demonstrate high executive function skills, can balance freedoms and responsibilities, and exhibit high levels of self-direction. Students should also be capable of respectful, meaningful relationships with peers, and should be open to working in partnership with adults.

While a Montessori program generally operates most effectively when it is made up of a strong majority of students with previous Montessori experience, students with non-Montessori backgrounds, who possess the aforementioned qualities, can and do thrive in our program.
